The Director – Operational Technology (OT) is responsible for the strategic leadership and oversight of all OT systems, including SCADA, PLCs, DCS, and industrial communication networks across the organization’s infrastructure. This role ensures seamless integration of technology with physical operations, enhances real-time monitoring and control, and drives secure, efficient, and data-driven operations in alignment with corporate goals and regulatory standards.
OT Strategy & Governance:
Define and lead the operational technology roadmap to support smart infrastructure, process automation, and system modernization initiatives.
System Integration:
Oversee the design, implementation, and integration of SCADA, PLC, DCS, and remote telemetry systems across operational sites.
Cybersecurity & Compliance:
Ensure OT cybersecurity in coordination with IT, applying NIST, ISA/IEC 62443, and other standards for system protection and data integrity.
Digital Infrastructure Modernization:
Guide upgrades from legacy control systems to advanced, interoperable platforms, including IoT-enabled devices and real-time analytics.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, IT, and operations teams to ensure OT systems support operational excellence and digital transformation.
Performance Monitoring & Reliability:
Establish KPIs, monitor system performance, and lead reliability-centered maintenance strategies for critical OT infrastructure.
Vendor & Project Management:
Manage external partners, system integrators, and automation suppliers for new deployments, upgrades, and lifecycle support.
Team Leadership:
Build and lead a team of OT engineers, cybersecurity specialists, and system analysts. Provide technical guidance and develop internal capability.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Automation, or Control Systems Engineering
12–18 years of experience in OT leadership, including 5+ years in a senior or director-level role
Proven expertise in SCADA, DCS, PLCs, RTUs, industrial Ethernet, and OT cybersecurity
Experience in utilities (water, energy, power) or large-scale industrial infrastructure
Certifications in ISA, ICS cybersecurity, PMP, or equivalent are preferred
Strategic thinking with deep technical insight in OT systems
Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and team development skills
Thorough knowledge of cybersecurity, system architecture, and compliance standards
Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and vendor negotiation abilities
Familiarity with convergence of OT and IT in digital transformation initiatives
