The Director – Mechanical and Turbine Engineering provides strategic leadership and technical oversight for all mechanical and turbine systems within the organization’s infrastructure and energy facilities. This role is responsible for engineering design, performance optimization, asset lifecycle planning, and ensuring reliability and safety of turbines, pumps, compressors, and related mechanical systems. The director collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in mechanical design, improve energy efficiency, and execute high-impact capital and maintenance projects.
Technical Leadership & Engineering Management
Lead mechanical and turbine engineering teams in design, specification, and execution of infrastructure and energy projects.
Review and approve technical documentation, engineering designs, and system upgrades related to mechanical and rotating equipment.
Turbine System Oversight
Oversee the selection, design, installation, and performance optimization of steam, gas, hydro, or energy recovery turbines.
Drive turbine maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
Asset Performance & Lifecycle Strategy
Develop long-term strategies for mechanical asset management, incorporating condition-based monitoring, reliability engineering, and predictive maintenance.
Implement system upgrades and retrofits to extend operational life and align with performance goals.
Project Delivery
Lead multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of capital projects involving large mechanical and turbine systems.
Ensure timely execution of projects, adherence to budgets, and compliance with technical standards.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
Ensure that all mechanical and turbine systems meet safety standards, industry codes, and environmental regulations.
Promote a strong culture of engineering excellence, quality control, and operational safety.
Innovation & Technology Integration
Evaluate and adopt new technologies in turbomachinery, materials, and control systems to enhance system performance.
Support R&D and innovation initiatives for advanced turbine and mechanical system design.
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (operations, maintenance, planning) and external partners (vendors, EPC firms) to align engineering deliverables.
Represent the organization in technical discussions, audits, and industry forums.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Turbomachinery Engineering, or related field.
12+ years of experience in mechanical systems design and turbine engineering (steam, gas, or hydro), including team leadership and project execution.
Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, power plant or utility operations, and energy systems.
Professional Engineering License (PE) or equivalent certification preferred.
Deep understanding of turbine mechanics, thermodynamics, and system integration
Expertise in failure analysis, vibration diagnostics, and performance tuning
Strong project management and leadership capabilities
Familiarity with engineering codes (API, ASME, ISO, IEC) and OEM design standards
Ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly
