Director – Mechanical Fabrication & Construction (Power Plant)
The Director – Mechanical Fabrication & Construction oversees all aspects of mechanical fabrication and construction activities within a power plant environment. This leadership role is responsible for managing fabrication shops, field erection teams, and construction projects to ensure mechanical systems and components are delivered and installed safely, on schedule, and to high-quality standards. The Director coordinates cross-functional teams to support plant operations, maintenance, and capital projects while ensuring compliance with industry codes and safety regulations.
Lead fabrication of mechanical components including piping spools, pressure vessels, structural steel, and equipment assemblies.
Manage field erection, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems across power plant units.
Ensure fabrication and construction activities meet project specifications, codes, and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, API).
Plan and coordinate fabrication and construction schedules to align with plant operational requirements and project timelines.
Collaborate with engineering, procurement, quality assurance, and project management teams to ensure seamless workflow.
Manage contractor and vendor relationships to maintain quality and on-time delivery.
Implement and monitor quality control systems including welding inspections, NDT, and material traceability.
Enforce strict safety standards and conduct regular safety audits and training programs.
Address any non-conformances or safety incidents promptly and effectively.
Build and lead high-performing teams of supervisors, engineers, fabricators, and field technicians.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth.
Oversee workforce planning, training, and skills development.
Develop and manage budgets for fabrication and construction activities.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, quality, safety, and cost control.
Provide regular status reports to senior management.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction Management, or related field
Experience:
12+ years in mechanical fabrication and construction within power plants or heavy industrial sectors
Proven leadership experience managing fabrication shops, field erection, and construction teams
Strong knowledge of fabrication codes and welding standards (ASME, AWS, API, etc.)
