We are seeking a visionary and technically strong Director – Mechanical Engineering (Vehicle Programs) to lead the end-to-end mechanical development for current and future vehicle platforms. This role requires deep expertise in mechanical systems design, integration, and validation, along with proven leadership in managing cross-functional engineering teams and complex product development cycles. You will drive the execution of engineering deliverables for vehicle systems including chassis, powertrain integration, HVAC, structural components, and packaging—ensuring they meet cost, performance, and safety targets.
Lead the mechanical engineering function for all vehicle programs from concept to production.
Oversee the design, development, and integration of mechanical subsystems: chassis, body structures, cooling, HVAC, mountings, enclosures, and packaging.
Ensure all components meet regulatory, performance, durability, and manufacturing requirements.
Own mechanical engineering milestones across vehicle development timelines (gates: concept, alpha, beta, validation, SOP).
Collaborate with vehicle architecture, electrical, systems, and manufacturing teams to align mechanical deliverables.
Track program metrics including BOM cost, weight, manufacturability, and performance KPIs.
Build, lead, and mentor a team of mechanical and design engineers, specialists, and CAD designers.
Foster a high-performance culture focused on innovation, accountability, and technical excellence.
Work with suppliers, external partners, and in-house procurement teams to source and validate mechanical components.
Support design-for-manufacturing (DFM), validation (DV/PV), and quality engineering efforts.
Contribute to long-term product and technology roadmaps.
Drive continuous improvement in engineering tools, simulation, prototyping, and CAD/PDM systems.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
12+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
Proven experience in full vehicle product development (preferably automotive, EVs, off-highway, or commercial vehicles).
Strong knowledge of vehicle system integration, structural design, packaging, thermal systems, and DVP&R processes.
Familiarity with CAD tools (CATIA, NX, Creo), PLM systems, and CAE fundamentals.
Excellent program management, communication, and leadership skills.
