The Director – Maintenance and Engineering Services is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant and facility maintenance, reliability engineering, and technical services across the organization. This role ensures that equipment, utilities, infrastructure, and engineering systems operate at peak efficiency and compliance. The Director will lead cross-functional teams in preventive and predictive maintenance, capital improvements, and long-term asset management, aligning operations with safety, quality, and business goals.
Maintenance Strategy & Execution:
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs across all facilities.
Ensure optimal equipment uptime, reduced unplanned downtime, and extended asset life cycles.
Engineering Services Management:
Oversee all facility engineering services including HVAC, utilities, compressed air, fire protection, and water systems.
Lead plant improvement and facility upgrade projects including expansions and renovations.
Reliability Engineering:
Establish reliability programs using root cause analysis (RCA), RCM, and FMEA techniques.
Implement condition-based monitoring and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure full compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Maintain certifications and regulatory approvals (ISO, OSHA, EPA, etc.).
Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor teams of maintenance engineers, technicians, and project engineers.
Promote a high-performance, safety-first culture within the maintenance and engineering organization.
Capital Projects & Budgeting:
Lead small to mid-size capital projects including machinery upgrades, utility infrastructure, and plant automation.
Manage operational and capital expenditure (OpEx/CapEx) budgets effectively.
Vendor & Contract Management:
Supervise contractors and external service providers for facility management, equipment servicing, and utilities.
Negotiate and manage service-level agreements (SLAs) for technical support.
Energy & Sustainability Initiatives:
Drive energy efficiency and utility optimization projects.
Support green building practices and sustainability targets.

In-depth understanding of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and utility systems.
Proficient in CMMS, SCADA/BMS systems, and maintenance performance metrics (MTBF, MTTR, OEE).
Strong leadership experience in multi-site or large-scale industrial maintenance operations.
Ability to align engineering services with long-term business goals.
Skilled in root cause analysis, condition monitoring, and failure prediction.
Strong project planning, scheduling, and execution capabilities.
Familiarity with local and international engineering codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Excellent cross-functional collaboration with production, safety, procurement, and leadership teams.
Education:
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (required)
M.E./MBA (preferred for strategic and leadership responsibilities)
Certifications (Preferred):
Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Six Sigma, PMP, or Facilities Management certifications
Experience:
15+ years in plant maintenance and engineering, with 5+ years in a leadership/director role
Experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, chemicals, energy, food processing, or utilities preferred
