The Director β Engineering Support and Modifications is responsible for overseeing all plant modification projects, technical evaluations, and engineering support functions across operating assets. The role ensures technical solutions are safe, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with business objectives. This includes leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in resolving design issues, implementing plant changes, and supporting operational excellence.
Lead the planning and execution of brownfield modifications, engineering upgrades, debottlenecking, and technical retrofits across facilities.
Provide expert engineering support to Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and Asset Integrity teams.
Manage the Engineering Support function including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and civil disciplines.
Evaluate and approve engineering changes, modifications, and non-conformance resolutions (NCRs).
Ensure all modifications comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ASME, API, IEC, ISO).
Coordinate with OEMs, EPCs, and third-party engineering consultants for specialized services.
Develop and enforce Management of Change (MoC) procedures for plant modifications and upgrades.
Drive continuous improvement in reliability, safety, efficiency, and performance through engineered solutions.
Lead failure investigations and develop technically sound repair or redesign strategies.
Manage the engineering documentation system, drawings, manuals, and technical archives.
Monitor budgets, schedules, and resource allocation for all engineering support and modification projects.
Deliver technically sound, code-compliant modifications that improve performance, reliability, or safety of operating assets.
Act as the highest level of engineering authority in resolving chronic and critical plant issues, deviations, and technical queries.
Implement a robust MoC process to evaluate risks, technical impacts, and operational constraints before approving changes.
Integrate inputs from mechanical, electrical, I&C, civil, and safety engineers to develop unified, sustainable solutions.
Extend equipment and system life through engineered improvements, operational re-rates, and material upgrades.
Ensure all changes are captured in design documentation, engineering drawings, and technical records for future reference and audits.
