Roles & Responsibilities

The Director – Digital Diagnostics Platforms leads the vision, architecture, and execution of end-to-end digital platforms used in diagnostics. This includes integration of devices, data acquisition, cloud-based analytics, clinical decision support tools, and digital interfaces for patients and providers. The Director plays a pivotal role in transforming traditional diagnostic workflows into digitally enhanced, interoperable, scalable, and patient-centered solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale digital diagnostics platforms supporting clinical testing, remote diagnostics, and decision support.

  • Drive interoperability and integration with LIS, LIMS, EHRs, cloud systems, and APIs across lab and clinical systems.

  • Oversee adoption of AI/ML-enabled algorithms for diagnostic interpretation, triage, and automation.

  • Collaborate with clinical, regulatory, and data governance teams to ensure platform compliance, security, and performance.

  • Establish platform roadmaps including IoT device connectivity, digital workflow orchestration, and cloud-native architecture.

  • Build digital tools for diagnostic report generation, patient portals, and telehealth integration.

  • Guide agile development teams, product managers, and UX/UI designers to deliver scalable, user-friendly digital products.

  • Own key KPIs for platform availability, response time, data integrity, and diagnostic accuracy.

  • Serve as the thought leader and internal advisor on digital diagnostics trends, technologies, and vendor landscape.


Key Focus Areas:

  1. Platform Architecture & Integration

    • Design robust, secure, and scalable cloud-native platforms

    • Ensure seamless data flow across LIS, LIMS, PACS, EHR, and analytics engines

  2. Digital Workflow Enablement

    • Digitize the entire diagnostic workflow (order > test > result > report > feedback)

    • Enable real-time dashboards, alerting, and interactive reporting interfaces

  3. AI/ML & Decision Support

    • Oversee integration of AI/ML for diagnostics (e.g., imaging, pathology, molecular assays)

    • Validate and deploy predictive models and decision trees in clinical context

  4. IoT & Remote Diagnostics Enablement

    • Integrate connected diagnostic devices, wearables, and home-based testing tools

    • Ensure secure and accurate data capture from remote endpoints

  5. Compliance, Security & Regulatory Alignment

    • Ensure adherence to HIPAA, FDA SaMD, GDPR, and cybersecurity standards

    • Oversee risk assessments, audit readiness, and regulatory documentation

  6. Stakeholder Engagement & Product Strategy

    • Align platform features with needs of clinicians, lab professionals, patients, and partners

    • Drive vendor evaluations, technology selections, and partnerships


Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or related field

    • Advanced degrees (MBA, MPH, or Ph.D.) preferred for strategic leadership roles

  • Experience:

    • 10+ years in digital health, diagnostics, or clinical platform leadership

    • Strong background in software development lifecycle, SaaS platforms, and clinical systems integration

    • Prior experience with LIMS/LIS/EHR platforms, cloud computing, APIs, and FHIR required

  • Technical Skills:

    • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

    • Modern development frameworks (microservices, REST, GraphQL)

    • AI/ML tools, data pipelines, and visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)

  • Soft Skills:

    • Strategic thinking, agile product leadership, vendor negotiation

    • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to bridge clinical and technical domains
