We are seeking a forward-thinking and technically adept Director – Advanced Manufacturing Processes to lead the development, implementation, and optimization of advanced manufacturing technologies across our production operations. This role will be pivotal in transforming traditional manufacturing through the integration of automation, digital systems, new materials, and innovative processes. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical knowledge with strategic vision to drive productivity, quality, and competitiveness.
Lead development and deployment of advanced processes such as additive manufacturing, precision machining, laser cutting, high-speed automation, and robotics.
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption paths that align with business needs.
Drive digital transformation of manufacturing, including IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things), smart sensors, machine learning for predictive maintenance, and real-time data analytics.
Develop digital twin models and simulation frameworks to enhance design-to-production agility.
Oversee process design, validation, and scaling of new manufacturing methods.
Apply lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and statistical process control (SPC) to ensure operational excellence.
Work closely with Product Engineering, R&D, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless integration of new technologies into production.
Influence early product designs for manufacturability and cost-efficiency.
Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers, automation specialists, and process technologists.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and operational innovation.
Develop and execute the roadmap for advanced manufacturing capabilities across all facilities.
Identify, test, and implement state-of-the-art technologies to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
Lead capital investment projects in new manufacturing equipment and infrastructure upgrades.
Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation for new processes.
Support new product introductions (NPI) with manufacturing feasibility studies and pilot line development.
Partner with academic institutions, vendors, and consortia to stay at the forefront of technological advancement.
Report on KPIs including process yield, cycle time, equipment utilization, and innovation metrics.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
12+ years of manufacturing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on advanced or high-tech processes.
Expertise in manufacturing technologies such as CNC, laser systems, 3D printing, precision assembly, or cleanroom production.
Proven track record in implementing Industry 4.0 and automation strategies.
Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills.
Doctorate or specialized training in advanced manufacturing technologies or systems engineering.
Experience in industries such as aerospace, semiconductors, automotive, medical devices, or energy systems.
Certification in Six Sigma, Lean, or PMP.
Experience with MES, ERP, and digital engineering tools (e.g., Siemens, PTC, Autodesk, SAP).
