The Junior Controls Engineer supports the design, configuration, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of control systems for gas and steam turbines. This role focuses on PLC/DCS/SCADA systems, particularly GE Mark VIe, and involves working under senior engineers to ensure control logic integrity, safe operation, and system reliability for turbine-driven processes.
Assist in the development and testing of turbine control logic and HMI interfaces using GE Mark VIe, PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), and DCS platforms.
Participate in modifying and troubleshooting control logic, sequencing, and interlocks.
Support integration of turbine control systems with auxiliary packages (fuel, lube oil, seal gas, etc.) and plant DCS/SCADA networks.
Assist in on-site commissioning, loop checking, I/O verification, and system start-up.
Support analysis of turbine trip logs, alarms, and event histories to identify abnormal behaviors.
Assist in the documentation and updating of logic diagrams and control sequences.
Help diagnose issues in turbine control systems, instrumentation, or field devices under supervision.
Participate in preventive maintenance and firmware/software updates.
Prepare and update system drawings, I/O lists, control schematics, cause-and-effect diagrams, and functional descriptions.
Document changes, updates, and support tickets related to control logic and HMI configurations.
Participate in OEM and internal training programs on Mark VIe, PLC programming, instrumentation, and safety systems.
Stay updated with best practices in industrial automation and turbomachinery control systems.
