The Control Valve Supervisor leads and manages all activities related to the servicing, maintenance, and operational reliability of control valves used in steam, feedwater, and auxiliary systems. This role is responsible for planning and assigning valve maintenance tasks, overseeing technicians, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining adherence to OEM and industry standards.
Team Leadership & Planning – Supervise valve maintenance teams, plan daily activities, allocate manpower, and ensure completion of tasks on schedule.
Technical Oversight – Provide expert guidance on valve diagnostics, overhauls, and calibration procedures for a variety of control valves and actuators.
Steam & Feedwater System Application – Ensure valve integrity and performance in high-pressure, high-temperature environments.
Work Quality & Documentation – Review technical reports, calibration logs, and inspection records to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Safety & Compliance – Enforce safety protocols, permit-to-work systems, and industry standards (IEC/ISA/API).
Supervise maintenance and servicing of globe, butterfly, ball, and other types of control valves across steam and feedwater lines.
Coordinate actuator repair and calibration activities for pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric actuators, including positioner setups.
Monitor performance and reliability of valves, identify critical maintenance needs, and raise material/service requisitions.
Conduct pre- and post-maintenance inspections, validate test results, and authorize equipment handover to operations.
Support shutdown planning and execution by developing valve maintenance scopes and manpower requirements.
Train junior technicians and ensure standard operating procedures are followed.
Coordinate with vendors, OEMs, and QA/QC teams for critical valve servicing and audits.
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering.
6–10 years of experience in control valve maintenance, including 2+ years in a supervisory or lead technician role.
Proficient in using test benches, diagnostic tools, and calibrators for valve testing and commissioning.
Familiar with OEMs such as Fisher, Masoneilan, Samson, Valtek, and standards like IEC 60534 / ISA 75.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
