Roles & Responsibilities

Job Title: Control Valve Technician 

Job Summary:

We are hiring a Junior Control Valve Technician to assist in the servicing, testing, and maintenance of control valves used in industrial process systems. This entry-level role is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals beginning their careers in valve maintenance and instrumentation support. Under the guidance of experienced technicians, the candidate will learn essential valve servicing skills and gain hands-on experience with control valve components and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Valve Disassembly & Inspection

  • Assist in the disassembly of control valves, actuators, and related accessories.

  • Support cleaning, inspection, and identification of worn or damaged components.

  • Prepare valves for testing and reassembly.

Maintenance & Repair

  • Help replace internal components such as seats, seals, diaphragms, and gaskets.

  • Assist with reassembly and calibration of control valves.

  • Apply correct torque values and follow standard procedures.

Testing & Calibration

  • Support testing of control valve function (stroke test, leakage test, etc.).

  • Learn to use basic testing tools such as positioners, gauges, and air supply systems.

  • Help prepare test reports and inspection records.

Documentation & Safety

  • Maintain accurate records of valve servicing, parts used, and findings.

  • Follow company safety procedures, including use of PPE and adherence to lockout/tagout.

  • Report unsafe conditions or practices to supervisors.

Learning & Development

  • Attend training sessions on valve theory, safety practices, and OEM procedures.

  • Develop familiarity with valve types (globe, ball, butterfly, etc.) and actuator mechanisms (pneumatic, electric).

  • Gain knowledge of industry standards such as ISA, API, and ASME.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Requirements:

  • Technical diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation, or Industrial Maintenance.

Experience:

  • 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships or technical training preferred).

Technical Skills:

  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and valve components.

  • Ability to use hand tools and basic measuring instruments.

  • Willingness to learn calibration and testing techniques.

Soft Skills:

  • Eagerness to learn in a hands-on environment.

  • Good teamwork and communication skills.

  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Any entry-level training in valve maintenance or mechanical safety is an advantage.
