We are seeking a Junior Control Valve Engineer to support the selection, installation, calibration, and maintenance of control valves and their actuation systems within water and wastewater treatment facilities. This entry-level role focuses on hands-on learning and technical support under the guidance of senior engineers and instrumentation specialists.
Valve Systems Support
Assist in installing and commissioning control valves with pneumatic, hydraulic, or electric actuators.
Support calibration and basic troubleshooting of valve positioners, I/P converters, and actuation controllers.
Conduct functional tests to verify proper operation of control valves in process systems.
Documentation & Technical Drawings
Assist in maintaining valve datasheets, loop diagrams, and actuation wiring drawings.
Help prepare documentation for new valve installations and system modifications.
Update P&IDs and maintenance records under direction.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform basic inspections and assist with preventive maintenance of control valves.
Work with technicians and engineers to identify causes of valve control issues (e.g., response time delays, leakage, actuator malfunctions).
Support small-scale valve upgrades and replacement activities.
Safety & Compliance
Follow established safety procedures including lockout/tagout, electrical safety, and confined space entry.
Learn and apply industry standards (e.g., ISA, ANSI) for valve selection and actuation.
Attend safety meetings and participate in toolbox talks.
Learning & Development
Participate in training on valve types, actuators, and control systems used in water treatment.
Shadow senior engineers and contribute to technical problem-solving sessions.
Gradually build expertise in valve sizing, signal integration, and valve diagnostics.
Hands-on learning in control valve systems and actuation types
Technical support for calibration and maintenance
Documentation of valve and control system work
Compliance with safety and engineering standards

0–2 years of experience in valve systems, mechanical controls, or water/utility plant environments
Internships or project experience with pneumatic/hydraulic/electrical actuation a plus
Skills:
Basic understanding of fluid mechanics, valve function, and actuator types
Ability to interpret technical drawings and P&IDs
Eagerness to learn and work under experienced professionals
Good communication, attention to detail, and commitment to safety
