The Senior Control Panel Wiring Technician is responsible for leading the fabrication, wiring, and functional testing of complex electrical control panels for power systems. This role ensures compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and quality benchmarks, while also guiding and mentoring junior technicians in best practices. The role involves advanced troubleshooting, schematic interpretation, and close collaboration with engineering and commissioning teams.
Advanced Panel Wiring & Assembly – Independently wire high- and low-voltage control panels, MCCs, PLC panels, and VFD systems.
Technical Leadership – Provide hands-on supervision and technical oversight to junior and mid-level wiring technicians.
Complex Schematic Interpretation – Read, interpret, and validate complex electrical diagrams, single-line drawings, and panel layouts.
Pre-Commissioning & FAT – Lead internal and customer-facing testing processes including continuity, insulation resistance, and full system functionality checks.
Troubleshooting & Modifications – Diagnose and correct panel wiring issues; suggest improvements and implement modifications during or after assembly.
Compliance & Standards – Ensure panels meet standards such as IEC, NEC, UL, and internal QA/QC protocols.
Oversee the complete lifecycle of panel fabrication from layout to functional test.
Verify wiring against schematics and perform detailed quality checks.
Identify and resolve discrepancies between drawings and actual build conditions.
Prepare test reports, punch lists, and support documentation for handover.
Coordinate with electrical engineers, project managers, and installation teams to ensure readiness for site integration.
Lead FAT sessions and provide technical support to clients and auditors.
Train junior staff and develop SOPs and standard wiring practices for the workshop.
Diploma or Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Industrial Control Engineering.
7–10 years of experience in industrial control panel wiring, including leadership responsibilities.
Advanced understanding of electrical wiring standards, cable routing, and protection systems.
Proficient in wiring PLC panels, relay-based systems, VFDs, MCCs, and control loops.
Familiarity with industrial platforms (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, Allen-Bradley, ABB) is highly desirable.
Exceptional troubleshooting and hands-on wiring skills.
Strong understanding of technical specifications, control logic, and compliance requirements.
Effective leadership, mentoring, and team coordination abilities.
