The Contracts Manager / QS Manager is responsible for managing all contractual and cost-related aspects of construction projects. This role ensures effective cost control, accurate forecasting, and compliance with contract terms and conditions. The manager leads a team of quantity surveyors and contract administrators, contributing to project profitability, risk management, and commercial success.
Oversee contract administration, commercial management, and quantity surveying functions.
Review and negotiate contract terms with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Prepare, review, and manage claims, variations, and contractual correspondences.
Conduct cost estimation, budgeting, and financial reporting for ongoing projects.
Ensure accurate measurement and valuation of work done on-site.
Monitor project expenditures and compare against budget forecasts.
Evaluate subcontractor performance and manage payments and final accounts.
Provide guidance on procurement strategies and tendering processes.
Mitigate contractual risks and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
Prepare detailed reports for senior management on commercial performance.
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Professional certification (MRICS, AIQS, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
Minimum 10 years of experience in contracts and quantity surveying, including leadership roles.
Strong knowledge of contract law, FIDIC, and local regulatory standards.
Proficiency in QS software (e.g., CostX, Candy, Primavera, Excel).
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
Proven ability to manage high-value contracts and complex claims.
Capable of leading a team in a dynamic, fast-paced project environment.
Experience in large-scale infrastructure, real estate, or industrial projects is an advantage.
