The Mid-Level Construction Safety Officer is responsible for enforcing safety standards and policies across the construction site. This role includes conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and training programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. The officer acts as a key point of contact for daily site safety activities and incident response.
Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions to eliminate or reduce risks.
Investigate incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions and document findings.
Deliver safety inductions and toolbox talks to new and existing site personnel.
Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety devices.
Coordinate with site supervisors to ensure implementation of safety controls and safe systems of work.
Assist in preparing method statements, risk assessments, and safety reports.
Ensure proper signage and safety equipment are available and maintained across the site.
Keep up-to-date records of safety training, incidents, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
Support emergency preparedness drills and first aid coordination.
Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
3–5 years of relevant experience in construction site safety roles.
Good knowledge of local and international safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
Familiar with hazard identification, risk control, and root cause analysis.
Proficient in safety documentation and reporting.
NEBOSH IGC / OSHA 30-hour certification
First Aid & Fire Safety Training
Scaffolding, Working at Heights, or Confined Space Safety Training (preferred)
