Job Summary:

The Construction Project Director oversees the successful delivery of major construction projects from initiation to completion. This executive-level role involves managing project teams, budgets, timelines, and stakeholder relationships to ensure projects meet strategic goals, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The Project Director serves as the primary point of accountability for large-scale developments, infrastructure works, or commercial construction ventures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all phases of the construction project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, budgets, and resource allocations.

  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, engineers, contractors, and suppliers.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, legal, environmental, and quality standards.

  • Resolve high-level issues affecting project timelines, costs, or performance.

  • Maintain clear communication with executive leadership, stakeholders, and clients.

  • Review and approve contracts, procurement strategies, and project changes.

  • Monitor financial performance and control costs to stay within budget.

  • Manage risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Recruit, lead, and develop project management teams to achieve objectives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • 12–15+ years of experience in construction project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership/directorial role.

  • Proven experience in managing large-scale, multi-million-dollar construction projects.

  • In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, project scheduling, and contract management.

  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, ERP systems).


Preferred Competencies:

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.

  • Experience in infrastructure, real estate, industrial, or commercial construction sectors.

  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.

  • Familiarity with international standards (e.g., FIDIC, ISO).
