We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Mechanical Helper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of mechanical systems and extensive hands-on experience in assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems. In this role, you will lead a team of helpers, oversee the execution of tasks, and ensure that all work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Oversee and assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, plumbing, and other mechanical infrastructure on construction sites.
Lead and mentor junior and mid-level mechanical helpers, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
Interpret complex mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure proper system installation and configuration.
Coordinate with senior mechanical technicians and project managers to ensure all mechanical work is completed according to project specifications and timelines.
Perform high-level troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical systems, resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, job site regulations, and quality control measures.
Inspect mechanical systems and components to ensure compliance with local codes and standards.
Manage materials, tools, and equipment required for mechanical tasks, ensuring they are properly stored, maintained, and organized.
Supervise and review the work of junior team members, ensuring tasks are completed correctly and efficiently.
Prepare and maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and project progress.
5+ years of experience in mechanical construction, with significant hands-on experience in a leadership or senior support role.
Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, equipment, and construction procedures.
Strong understanding of mechanical system design, installation, and maintenance.
Proficient in reading and interpreting complex mechanical drawings and blueprints.
Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
In-depth knowledge of safety standards, codes, and regulations relevant to mechanical work in the construction industry.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to train and guide junior team members.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver’s license (if required for transportation of materials/equipment).
