The Senior Construction/Repair Supervisor – Boiler Projects is responsible for the full field execution of boiler construction, repair, modification, and retrofit projects. This role leads contractor teams, enforces quality and safety standards, coordinates cross-discipline activities, and ensures timely and cost-effective project delivery. It requires a high level of technical expertise, leadership, and regulatory compliance awareness.
Lead on-site execution of large-scale boiler construction, pressure part repairs, and component replacements.
Review and interpret detailed engineering drawings, weld maps, WPS/PQRs, and inspection plans.
Supervise teams of contractors and skilled trades during welding, fit-up, NDT, and hydrotesting operations.
Ensure strict compliance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (Section I, V, IX), NBIC, and site-specific standards.
Coordinate with quality assurance, inspection, and commissioning teams to meet mechanical completion milestones.
Conduct daily progress reviews, prepare status reports, and implement corrective measures to address delays or rework.
Lead field-level troubleshooting and problem-solving for construction challenges.
Monitor and enforce workplace safety, hold toolbox talks, and ensure adherence to HSE protocols.
Oversee material management, equipment mobilization, and contractor resource deployment.
Liaise with project management, engineering, procurement, and client teams for project alignment.
Field Leadership & Execution Oversight
Manage full lifecycle of construction and repair activities across multiple boiler zones (waterwall, superheater, economizer).
Regulatory & Code Compliance
Lead execution in full compliance with ASME, NBIC, jurisdictional, and safety regulations.
Schedule Adherence & Cost Control
Drive efficiency and minimize downtime through proactive planning and decision-making.
Quality Assurance & Inspection Coordination
Ensure all welds, materials, and testing meet specified standards before handover.
Safety & Risk Mitigation
Enforce rigorous safety practices and contribute to a zero-incident jobsite culture.
Bachelor’s or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, or related technical field.
8–15+ years of experience in boiler construction and repair supervision in power plants, utilities, or heavy industry.
Extensive knowledge of boiler types (CFBC, subcritical/supercritical, HRSG) and pressure part fabrication.
Expertise in welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, FCAW), NDT coordination, and hydrostatic testing.
Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and WPS documentation.
Familiarity with ASME BPVC, NBIC, API 510, AWS D1.1 standards.
Certification such as AWS CWI, API 510, or NBIC R Stamp experience is highly desirable.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in construction scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and digital reporting systems.
Experience in managing shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency repairs under tight deadlines.
