To lead and execute advanced condition monitoring activities, perform in-depth equipment diagnostics, and proactively support the plant’s reliability and predictive maintenance strategy. The senior technician plays a key role in early fault detection, asset health assessment, and mentoring junior team members.
Advanced Condition Monitoring Execution
Independently perform and interpret advanced condition monitoring techniques, including:
Vibration analysis (ISO CAT II/CAT III)
Thermography (thermal imaging)
Ultrasonic inspection
Oil and wear particle analysis
Motor current signature analysis
Fault Diagnosis & Corrective Recommendations
Diagnose complex mechanical issues such as resonance, bearing faults, misalignment, unbalance, and gear wear.
Provide actionable recommendations for corrective maintenance and machine reliability improvement.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Analyze historical and real-time data trends from condition monitoring systems.
Prepare detailed diagnostic reports, failure modes, and risk assessments.
Reliability & RCA Support
Support reliability engineering functions by participating in root cause analysis (RCA) and failure investigations.
Help implement long-term solutions and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies.
Tool Calibration & System Management
Ensure proper calibration, care, and operation of vibration analyzers, thermal cameras, ultrasonic detectors, and portable data collectors.
Manage and troubleshoot online condition monitoring systems and sensors.
CMMS & Documentation
Update and maintain equipment condition logs, trend reports, and health indices in the CMMS or monitoring software.
Ensure data accuracy and timely submission to engineering and maintenance leadership.
Team Collaboration & Field Support
Work closely with maintenance planners, operators, and engineers to schedule inspections and planned maintenance tasks.
Provide field support during machine overhauls and shutdowns for condition validation.
Mentorship & Training
Mentor and guide junior and mid-level condition monitoring technicians.
Conduct training and workshops on condition monitoring best practices and safety.

Diploma or B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Certified Vibration Analyst (ISO Category II or III preferred)
Thermography / Ultrasonic Testing Certification (preferred)
5–8+ years of experience in condition monitoring and predictive maintenance
Strong background in mechanical fault diagnostics across rotating and static equipment
Industry experience in sectors like Power, Oil & Gas, Cement, Steel, Chemical, FMCG, or other process industries
Expertise in multiple condition monitoring techniques and tools
Deep understanding of mechanical system behavior and failure modes
Analytical, proactive, and detail-oriented
Strong reporting and communication skills
Ability to lead diagnostics and guide maintenance actions
Familiarity with CMMS platforms (SAP PM, Maximo, etc.)
