The Chief Mechanical Engineer – Valves is the senior-most technical authority responsible for the mechanical design, performance integrity, and innovation of valve products across the organization. This role provides deep technical leadership in design standards, material selection, pressure containment, sealing technologies, and actuation systems for a wide range of valve types and applications. The Chief Engineer ensures all valve products meet regulatory standards, customer requirements, and engineering best practices while mentoring teams and guiding product development strategies.
Serve as the technical lead and final design approver for all mechanical aspects of valve engineering projects.
Establish and maintain engineering design standards, specifications, and guidelines for valve products.
Lead complex design reviews, FMEA sessions, and technical risk assessments.
Provide deep technical oversight in the design of ball, gate, globe, check, butterfly, and specialty valves.
Guide material selection, pressure ratings, sealing mechanisms, and actuation compatibility based on application needs (e.g., oil & gas, power, chemical, water).
Ensure robust design under various pressure, temperature, corrosion, and flow conditions.
Drive advanced engineering research in areas like high-performance alloys, severe-service applications, and smart valve integration.
Support the development and patenting of new technologies and product features.
Collaborate with R&D teams to validate performance improvements and cost optimization ideas.
Ensure compliance with global codes and standards such as API 6D/600, ASME B16.34, ISO 5208, PED, CE, SIL, and ATEX.
Provide engineering leadership during third-party certification, product audits, and customer inspections.
Mentor design engineers and analysts in advanced mechanical principles and engineering methodologies.
Promote a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence, and design rigor within the engineering team.
