The Chief Electrical Engineering Officer (CEEO) is a senior executive responsible for leading and shaping the strategic direction of all electrical engineering functions across the organization. This includes oversight of R&D, design, implementation, compliance, safety, and innovation for electrical systems in products, infrastructure, and facilities. The CEEO collaborates closely with operations, R&D, production, and regulatory teams to align technical excellence with business objectives.
Strategic Leadership & Vision
Define and drive the long-term strategy for electrical engineering across the organization.
Align engineering goals with organizational growth, sustainability, and innovation goals.
Technology and Innovation Management
Oversee development and integration of advanced electrical systems (e.g., smart grids, IoT devices, energy-efficient designs).
Lead adoption of emerging technologies like AI-driven control, predictive diagnostics, and energy storage systems.
Project & Program Oversight
Lead high-impact engineering programs across product lines, infrastructure, or facilities.
Ensure timely delivery of projects within scope, budget, and compliance standards.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure adherence to international electrical codes, safety standards (e.g., IEC, NFPA, NEC), and regulatory compliance.
Drive implementation of robust testing, QA, and risk management frameworks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Product, Operations, IT, and Facilities to integrate electrical systems into broader enterprise functions.
Represent electrical engineering in executive leadership meetings and board discussions.
Talent Development & Team Leadership
Build and mentor a high-performing global team of electrical engineers and technical managers.
Create succession plans, learning roadmaps, and a culture of engineering excellence.
Sustainability & Energy Optimization
Champion green energy initiatives, including energy audits, renewable integration, and power usage effectiveness (PUE) strategies.
Guide implementation of energy-efficient and sustainable electrical infrastructure.
Capital Planning & Budgeting
Oversee budget planning, CapEx allocation, and vendor management for electrical engineering projects.
Evaluate ROI and risk for major technology and infrastructure investments.
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Ph.D. preferred for R&D-focused roles.
MBA or Executive Leadership Training is a plus.
Experience:
15–20+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in executive or senior leadership roles.
Experience in large-scale operations, such as manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, or high-tech industries.
Skills:
Deep knowledge of electrical systems design, power distribution, automation, and controls.
Proven leadership in managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
