Job Summary:

The Chief Construction Engineer is responsible for leading all engineering and technical aspects of large-scale construction projects. This senior-level position oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, budgets, and timelines. The role requires deep technical knowledge, leadership ability, and strong project management skills to deliver complex infrastructure or building projects successfully.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise engineering teams and site engineers across multiple projects.

  • Review and approve technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering plans.

  • Coordinate with architects, project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to align construction activities with design intent.

  • Ensure all engineering work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.

  • Monitor project progress, budget, and resource allocation, resolving any issues that arise during construction.

  • Conduct site inspections to ensure engineering integrity and adherence to specifications.

  • Provide technical guidance and decision-making support during all project phases.

  • Prepare reports, risk assessments, and documentation for senior management and regulatory bodies.

  • Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in construction engineering.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in large-scale construction projects, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role.

  • Proficient in construction software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Project.

  • Strong understanding of structural design, construction methods, and project management principles.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Competencies:

  • Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects.

  • Familiarity with international construction standards (e.g., FIDIC, ISO).

  • Strong budgeting and cost estimation skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple teams across various disciplines and locations.
