Job Summary:

The Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) / Chief Growth Officer is responsible for driving the company’s long-term growth strategy through business development, strategic partnerships, new market expansion, and revenue diversification. As a member of the executive leadership team, this role plays a pivotal part in shaping the company’s vision, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring sustainable, scalable growth.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead the corporate growth strategy across business development, partnerships, sales, and market expansion.

  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities, including M&A, joint ventures, and international expansion.

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key partners, stakeholders, and high-value clients.

  • Collaborate with product, marketing, and operations teams to align go-to-market strategies with growth objectives.

  • Oversee the development of growth-focused KPIs and dashboards to track performance, revenue targets, and ROI.

  • Represent the company at industry events, investor meetings, and key partnership negotiations.

  • Lead and mentor business development, partnerships, and commercial teams to achieve revenue and market share goals.

  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer insights to refine business models and strategies.

  • Guide the integration of acquired businesses or partnerships into the core operation.

  • Present strategic plans, growth forecasts, and business updates to the board and executive team.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Strategy, or related field (MBA or relevant Master’s preferred).

  • 10–15 years of experience in business development, corporate strategy, or sales leadership, including 5+ years in an executive role.

  • Proven track record of driving significant business growth in a competitive or fast-scaling industry.

  • Strong understanding of corporate finance, market analysis, and strategic planning.

  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Experience in cross-functional leadership across sales, marketing, product, and operations.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills at the C-suite and board levels.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry experience in [customize: e.g., tech, manufacturing, SaaS, FMCG, healthcare, etc.].

  • Exposure to international markets and global business development.

  • Familiarity with investment, fundraising, or M&A integration processes.

  • Multilingual abilities (based on market coverage) are a plus.
