The Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) / Chief Growth Officer is responsible for driving the company’s long-term growth strategy through business development, strategic partnerships, new market expansion, and revenue diversification. As a member of the executive leadership team, this role plays a pivotal part in shaping the company’s vision, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring sustainable, scalable growth.
Define and lead the corporate growth strategy across business development, partnerships, sales, and market expansion.
Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities, including M&A, joint ventures, and international expansion.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with key partners, stakeholders, and high-value clients.
Collaborate with product, marketing, and operations teams to align go-to-market strategies with growth objectives.
Oversee the development of growth-focused KPIs and dashboards to track performance, revenue targets, and ROI.
Represent the company at industry events, investor meetings, and key partnership negotiations.
Lead and mentor business development, partnerships, and commercial teams to achieve revenue and market share goals.
Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer insights to refine business models and strategies.
Guide the integration of acquired businesses or partnerships into the core operation.
Present strategic plans, growth forecasts, and business updates to the board and executive team.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Strategy, or related field (MBA or relevant Master’s preferred).
10–15 years of experience in business development, corporate strategy, or sales leadership, including 5+ years in an executive role.
Proven track record of driving significant business growth in a competitive or fast-scaling industry.
Strong understanding of corporate finance, market analysis, and strategic planning.
Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Experience in cross-functional leadership across sales, marketing, product, and operations.
Excellent communication and presentation skills at the C-suite and board levels.
Industry experience in [customize: e.g., tech, manufacturing, SaaS, FMCG, healthcare, etc.].
Exposure to international markets and global business development.
Familiarity with investment, fundraising, or M&A integration processes.
Multilingual abilities (based on market coverage) are a plus.
