We are seeking a highly experienced and dependable Senior Carpenter to lead and execute complex carpentry tasks in construction, renovation, or interior fit-out projects. This role requires advanced technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage teams on-site. The Senior Carpenter will be responsible for high-precision woodworking, overseeing junior carpenters, ensuring quality control, and maintaining safety standards.
Lead the construction, installation, and repair of wood structures including frameworks, partitions, flooring, doors, cabinetry, roofing, and finishing work.
Read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and technical plans accurately.
Ensure all carpentry work aligns with design specifications and quality standards.
Supervise and coordinate tasks for junior and mid-level carpenters and laborers.
Provide on-the-job training, mentorship, and skill development to team members.
Assign daily work and monitor progress, ensuring deadlines and quality targets are met.
Inspect work throughout the process to ensure precision and adherence to safety and building codes.
Identify and resolve issues on-site related to material, fit, or design.
Recommend modifications or improvements based on practical experience.
Oversee the proper use and maintenance of carpentry tools, machinery, and equipment.
Manage inventory of materials, request supplies, and ensure efficient usage.
Suggest cost-effective alternatives and methods where applicable.
Ensure that all safety guidelines and procedures are followed by the carpentry team.
Conduct routine safety checks and toolbox talks.
Report hazards, incidents, or near-misses immediately to the site supervisor.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or ITI certification in Carpentry is required.
Experience: Minimum 6–10 years of carpentry experience, including leadership of teams or independent handling of large-scale projects.
Certifications: Health & Safety training (e.g., OSHA or equivalent) preferred.
Expert-level carpentry skills, including structural and finishing work.
Ability to read and interpret detailed construction drawings.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Thorough understanding of building codes, materials, and safety standards.
Skilled in using both hand and power tools efficiently.
Ability to work under pressure and solve problems independently.
Work involves both indoor and outdoor environments, often at active construction sites.
Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
Regular lifting, bending, and use of heavy tools and machinery.
