Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Carpenter with hands-on experience in residential, commercial, or industrial carpentry work. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of carpentry techniques, can read and interpret drawings, and is capable of working independently or supervising small tasks. You will be responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and finishing wooden structures with precision and attention to detail.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Construction & Installation

  • Perform carpentry tasks such as framing, formwork, flooring, door/window fitting, and cabinet installation.

  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials accurately.

  • Interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings.

2. Site Work & Finishing

  • Prepare work areas, set up equipment, and ensure all carpentry work is done to specifications.

  • Apply finishing techniques such as sanding, varnishing, painting, or staining as needed.

  • Conduct repairs and replacements for damaged woodwork.

3. Tool & Equipment Use

  • Use and maintain power tools and hand tools in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Ensure tools and equipment are inspected and maintained regularly.

4. Safety & Quality

  • Follow health and safety guidelines strictly while working on-site or in workshops.

  • Maintain quality control by inspecting materials and finished work for accuracy and finish.

5. Team Support

  • Collaborate with other trades (electricians, plumbers, painters) on-site to complete integrated tasks.

  • May supervise or guide junior carpenters or apprentices as needed.

  • Report material needs or delays to supervisors promptly.


Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or ITI certification in Carpentry required.

  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in general or specialized carpentry work (residential, commercial, or industrial).

  • Certifications: Safety training (e.g., OSHA or local equivalent) preferred.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficient in using hand and power tools (circular saws, drills, routers, etc.).

  • Ability to read blueprints, construction drawings, and technical documents.

  • Strong attention to detail and precision.

  • Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Physical stamina, dexterity, and ability to work in various environments.

  • Basic leadership and communication skills for guiding junior team members.


Working Conditions:

  • Work in indoor/outdoor environments such as construction sites, workshops, or client premises.

  • May require working at heights, in confined spaces, or in varying weather conditions.

  • Use of PPE (gloves, safety shoes, helmet, goggles) is mandatory.

With further experience and leadership, a Mid-Level Carpenter can progress to:

  • Senior Carpenter

  • Foreman / Site Supervisor

  • Workshop Supervisor

  • Project Lead (Carpentry Division)
