Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Junior Carpenter to assist with carpentry tasks on construction and maintenance projects. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with basic carpentry knowledge or technical training who are eager to learn on the job. Under the supervision of a Senior Carpenter, you will help with the construction, installation, repair, and maintenance of wooden and other structural elements on-site.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Carpentry Support

  • Assist in measuring, cutting, and assembling wood, plywood, and other materials.

  • Help install doors, windows, frames, flooring, cabinets, and other wooden structures.

  • Support formwork setup for concrete and structural framing work.

2. Tool & Equipment Handling

  • Handle and maintain hand tools and power tools used in carpentry work.

  • Keep tools and equipment clean and in working condition.

  • Learn and follow correct safety procedures when using tools.

3. Site Assistance

  • Load and unload materials and tools at the job site.

  • Set up and clean work areas before and after carpentry tasks.

  • Follow site safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

4. Learning & Development

  • Follow instructions from senior carpenters and supervisors.

  • Learn to read basic blueprints, drawings, and work specifications.

  • Participate in training to improve technical carpentry skills.


Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or ITI certificate in Carpentry is a plus.

  • Experience: 0–2 years of experience (internship or apprenticeship experience is acceptable).

  • Licenses/Certifications: Not required, but any relevant certifications are an advantage.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of carpentry tools, techniques, and materials.

  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.

  • Good hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.

  • Ability to work in a team and follow safety standards.

  • Basic understanding of measurements and units.


Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily on construction sites or in workshops.

  • Requires physical activity, lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.

  • May involve early starts, long hours, or weekend work depending on project schedules.
