  • Maintain a master calibration schedule and track equipment due for calibration.

2. Testing & Verification

  • Oversee functional testing of safety systems, transmitters, control valves, sensors, switches, and recorders.

  • Ensure proper use of test equipment and procedures during pre-commissioning, commissioning, and maintenance phases.

  • Verify calibration accuracy against manufacturer and industry tolerances.

3. Team Supervision & Training

  • Assign work orders, supervise calibration technicians, and monitor performance.

  • Train personnel on proper calibration procedures, safety practices, and documentation standards.

  • Ensure tools and test equipment are properly maintained and certified.

4. Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure all calibration activities follow QA/QC procedures and are traceable to national/international standards.

  • Participate in audits and inspections by clients or regulatory bodies.

  • Ensure compliance with site safety standards, including permit-to-work (PTW) and LOTO procedures.

5. Documentation & Traceability

  • Maintain accurate calibration records, certificates, and instrument history logs (manual or via CMMS).

  • Update instrument index and ensure all changes are reflected in drawings and documentation.

  • Support the preparation of calibration dossiers for handover or regulatory reporting.

6. Support for Commissioning & Maintenance

  • Assist in instrumentation checks during commissioning/start-up phases.

  • Provide support for troubleshooting instrumentation issues post-installation.

  • Ensure critical instruments (e.g., those used in custody transfer, safety systems) are verified and operational.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of instrumentation principles and calibration methods.

  • Familiar with standards such as ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, API, or NIST traceability.

  • Proficiency with calibration tools (e.g., HART communicators, multifunction calibrators, deadweight testers).

  • Competence in interpreting P&IDs, loop diagrams, datasheets, and calibration certificates.

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.

  • 5–8 years of experience in instrument calibration and testing, including 1–2 years in a supervisory role.

  • Experience in process industries like oil & gas, power plants, chemicals, or regulated industries like pharma.

  • Familiarity with CMMS or calibration management systems (e.g., Beamex, ProCal, Fluke MET/TEAM) is preferred.

  • Safety certifications (e.g., LOTO, confined space, H2S) are an added advantage for field roles.
