The Mid-Level Calibration Technician – Boost Control Systems is responsible for independently executing calibration, testing, and validation of turbocharger boost control systems on engine dynos and vehicles. This role involves hands-on tuning of wastegate, VGT, and electronic boost actuators, analyzing test data, troubleshooting system issues, and collaborating closely with engineering and calibration teams to meet performance and emissions targets. The technician supports continuous improvement of calibration processes and mentors junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently perform calibration and tuning of boost control systems using tools such as ETAS INCA or ATI VISION.
Set up and conduct engine and vehicle tests to validate boost pressure control strategies and actuator performance.
Analyze test data to evaluate transient response, boost accuracy, and system stability.
Troubleshoot mechanical and control system issues related to sensors, actuators, and ECU calibration.
Collaborate with engineers to refine control strategies and implement hardware or software changes.
Develop and maintain detailed calibration documentation, test plans, and change logs.
Mentor junior calibration technicians and assist in training programs.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for test procedures and calibration methodologies.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical field required
Experience:
3–5 years of experience in engine calibration, dyno testing, or boost control systems
Proven ability to calibrate turbo boost control components and analyze test data
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with calibration tools (ETAS INCA, ATI VISION, Motec, or OEM-specific software)
Strong understanding of turbocharger boost control hardware and control loops
Skilled in data acquisition, test execution, and diagnostic troubleshooting
Familiarity with ECU parameters and engine management systems
