The Senior Calibration Lab Supervisor leads the end-to-end operations of the calibration lab focused on food-grade and hygienic sensors, ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. This role manages a team of calibration specialists, oversees external audits, and ensures accuracy and traceability of all measurement instrumentation in critical food production environments.
Oversee the calibration of temperature, pressure, flow, level, pH, and conductivity instruments, particularly those used in cleanroom and sanitary process environments.
Define calibration frequency, tolerances, and acceptance criteria based on criticality and risk assessment.
Ensure traceability to national/international standards (NIST, ISO, etc.).
Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO 17025, HACCP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and other applicable standards.
Lead internal and third-party audits, respond to non-conformities, and implement CAPA.
Review and approve calibration procedures, records, and certificates.
Supervise and mentor a team of calibration technicians and junior supervisors.
Set performance benchmarks, conduct evaluations, and lead technical training programs on calibration, hygiene practices, and documentation.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and compliance.
Manage and maintain high-precision calibration tools such as:
Dry block calibrators, signal simulators, multifunction calibrators, master gauges, and bath systems.
Oversee reference standard management, asset calibration schedules, and preventive maintenance.
Ensure cleanroom protocols and sanitary conditions are maintained in the lab.
Conduct root cause analysis on instrument failures or out-of-tolerance conditions.
Review calibration data trends and propose improvements in instrument lifecycle management.
Collaborate with maintenance, QA, and operations to reduce downtime related to instrument calibration.
Administer calibration software (e.g., Beamex CMX, Fluke MET/TEAM, or CMMS systems) and ensure data integrity.
Implement e-signature, audit trails, and validation for 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
Expert knowledge of food-grade instrumentation and calibration best practices
Strong understanding of metrology, hygiene standards (EHEDG/3A), and documentation control
Skilled in audit handling, cross-functional coordination, and technical training
Proficient in digital calibration systems and regulatory reporting
Leadership skills with a focus on accuracy, quality, and process improvement
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Electronics, or related field
7–10 years of calibration experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership/supervisory role
Hands-on experience in regulated environments (Food, Dairy, Pharma, FMCG)
Certification in Metrology, ISO 17025, or related standards highly preferred
