The Mid-Level Calibration Lab Supervisor is responsible for independently managing the calibration and verification of hygienic/food-grade sensors and instruments. This role ensures accuracy, compliance with regulatory standards (GMP, ISO 17025, HACCP), and supports operational excellence by leading a team of technicians and coordinating internal and external audits.
Perform and oversee routine and periodic calibration of food-grade sensors:
Temperature, Pressure, Flow, Level, pH, Conductivity, and Hygienic RTDs
Ensure traceability of calibration to national/international standards.
Maintain up-to-date calibration records and documentation in compliance with:
GMP, ISO 17025, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and HACCP
Prepare documentation for internal/external audits and regulatory inspections.
Supervise day-to-day lab activities and maintain equipment readiness.
Manage reference standards, master instruments, and calibration tools such as:
Dry-block calibrators, Pressure modules, Signal simulators, and Data loggers
Ensure proper calibration intervals and instrument history tracking.
Lead a small team of calibration technicians.
Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and review calibration outputs.
Provide technical training and ensure adherence to SOPs.
Identify and investigate instrument failures or out-of-tolerance conditions.
Recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for deviations and quality issues.
Coordinate with maintenance or QA teams for resolving calibration-related problems.
Operate calibration management systems (e.g., CMMS, Beamex, Fluke MET/TEAM)
Generate reports and calibration certificates digitally with version control and e-signatures.
Strong knowledge of food-grade sensors and calibration requirements
Familiarity with hygienic design standards (e.g., 3A, EHEDG)
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, data sheets, SOPs, and wiring diagrams
Proficiency in handling traceability, documentation, and audit processes
Solid teamwork, communication, and leadership capabilities
Diploma/Bachelor’s in Instrumentation, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field
3–5 years of hands-on experience in a calibration role, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory position
Exposure to regulated environments (GMP, ISO, food/pharma industries)
Certification in metrology or calibration standards is a plus
