Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Senior Cable Tray and Tubing Installer – Sensor Wiring is responsible for leading field installation activities involving cable trays, conduits, sensor wiring, and instrumentation tubing. This includes planning and executing complex routing in cleanroom and regulated environments, supervising installation crews, ensuring code compliance, and coordinating closely with cross-functional engineering teams.

Key Focus Areas:

  1. Advanced Cable Tray & Conduit Installation

    • Design and execute complex routing for sensor and instrumentation cables, including multi-tier tray systems.

    • Ensure compliance with NEMA/IEC standards and site-specific design constraints.

  2. Instrumentation Tubing Leadership

    • Lead installation of stainless steel, plastic, or flexible tubing in sterile and critical process zones (CIP/SIP).

    • Ensure bends, supports, and terminations meet hygienic and GMP guidelines.

  3. Sensor Wiring Oversight

    • Oversee complete sensor loop wiring from field instruments (RTDs, pressure, pH, conductivity, flow) to control systems.

    • Ensure correct shielding, grounding, and separation of signal lines.

  4. Field Drawing Interpretation & Execution

    • Accurately interpret and mark-up P&IDs, cable schedules, routing diagrams, and loop drawings.

    • Make field adjustments while maintaining traceability.

  5. Supervision & Team Leadership

    • Lead and train teams of junior and mid-level installers and helpers.

    • Allocate tasks, verify work quality, and ensure adherence to timelines.

  6. Interface with Engineering & QA

    • Coordinate with electrical/instrumentation engineers, QA/QC inspectors, and project managers for field validation.

    • Support pre-commissioning and FAT/SAT activities through accurate cable/tubing installation and documentation.

  7. Compliance & Quality Control

    • Conduct in-process checks to verify alignment with hygienic design, cleanroom standards, and regulatory codes.

    • Maintain documentation for traceability, cable tagging, and tubing layout as per project protocols.

  8. Technical Issue Resolution

    • Resolve field issues such as routing conflicts, sensor mismatch, material constraints, or grounding problems.

    • Propose design modifications and improvements for execution efficiency.

  9. Safety & Site Protocols

    • Enforce electrical and installation safety standards, confined space rules, and hot work permit compliance.

    • Conduct toolbox talks and hazard identification during field work.

  10. Inventory & Material Control

  • Monitor stock levels of trays, fittings, cables, and tubing.

  • Prevent material wastage and manage site material tracking with the warehouse team.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Diploma or Trade Certificate (Electrical/Instrumentation/Mechanical).

    • Additional certifications in cleanroom installation or industrial electrical practices are preferred.

  • Experience:

    • 6–10 years of hands-on experience in sensor wiring, cable tray layout, and tubing installation, preferably in pharma, biotech, food, or cleanroom environments.

  • Skills:

    • Strong working knowledge of industry installation standards.

    • Competent in team supervision, problem-solving, and client/contractor interface.

    • Capable of handling documentation, redlines, and safety documentation.
