The Mid-Level Cable Tray and Tubing Installer – Sensor Wiring is responsible for independently executing cable tray installations, tubing layout, and sensor cable routing in industrial, cleanroom, or lab environments. The role involves interpreting installation drawings, supervising junior technicians, and ensuring work quality meets industry standards for signal integrity, hygiene compliance, and reliability.
Cable Tray & Conduit Installation
Install and secure cable trays and conduits across ceilings, walls, or raised platforms based on layout drawings.
Ensure load-bearing compliance, grounding, and separation of signal and power lines.
Tubing Layout & Installation
Independently lay out and install SS or flexible tubing for sensor connections (e.g., CIP/SIP lines, temperature sensors).
Ensure hygienic, leak-free, and neatly routed tubing as per GMP practices.
Sensor Wiring Execution
Route, terminate, and label sensor cables (RTDs, thermocouples, pressure, flow, pH) to junction boxes, transmitters, and panels.
Follow signal integrity practices to prevent noise and cross-talk.
Drawing & Documentation Use
Interpret P&IDs, I/O lists, layout drawings, and cable schedules for execution.
Mark-up redline drawings and support as-built documentation updates.
Field Coordination & Supervision
Guide junior technicians or contract helpers during tray mounting and cable laying.
Coordinate with electricians, welders, and automation engineers during sensor system installations.
Quality and Compliance
Adhere to IEC/NEMA standards, internal SOPs, and hygienic installation guidelines.
Ensure that materials and installation conform to cleanroom or sterile lab requirements when applicable.
Testing Support
Support continuity checks, insulation resistance testing, and verification of correct terminations for sensor wiring loops.
Assist commissioning team with loop folder preparation.
Material Management
Estimate and verify materials (tray lengths, tubing coils, sensor cable specs).
Ensure proper storage and handling of sensitive cables and fittings.
Workplace Safety
Follow site safety rules, PPE guidelines, and electrical safety protocols.
Train or mentor junior installers on safe use of ladders, lifts, and tools.
Documentation & Labeling
Accurately tag cables and tubing as per project ID or instrument tag lists.
Maintain daily work reports and progress logs.
