The Junior Cable Tray and Sensor Conduit Installer assists in the installation of cable trays, conduits, and sensor pathways in industrial or commercial settings. The role supports the electrical and instrumentation teams to ensure neat, safe, and code-compliant routing for power, control, and signal cables related to I&C systems.
Cable Tray Installation:
Assist in measuring, cutting, assembling, and securing cable tray systems as per layout drawings and instructions.
Conduit Installation:
Support in the layout and installation of electrical conduit (EMT, PVC, flexible, etc.) for sensor and instrument cabling.
Routing Assistance:
Help route cables for sensors and instrumentation from control panels to field locations, ensuring correct identification and separation of signal types.
Use of Tools and Equipment:
Operate hand and power tools safely, including pipe benders, hacksaws, drills, and conduit threading machines.
Compliance with Standards:
Follow electrical codes, site safety practices, and installation procedures under supervision.
Material Handling:
Assist with inventory, transport, and storage of materials such as tray sections, fasteners, junction boxes, and conduits.
Support Senior Technicians:
Work under the guidance of senior installers and supervisors, learning and developing trade skills.
Site Cleanliness & Safety:
Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment; report unsafe conditions or practices promptly.
Instrument Cable Management:
Support precise installation to avoid signal interference and ensure accessibility for maintenance.
Tray and Conduit Routing:
Learn correct practices for routing, spacing, and securing different types of cables and conduits.
Installation Drawings Interpretation:
Begin developing the ability to understand layout drawings, installation plans, and schematic diagrams.
Safety and PPE Use:
Follow all site safety rules, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and observe lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures when required.
Support in Pre-Commissioning Phase:
Assist in preparing sensor wiring and conduit routes to support commissioning and loop checks.
ITI, Diploma, or High School graduate with technical/vocational training in electrical or instrumentation fields.
0–2 years of experience in cable tray or conduit installation (industrial or commercial projects preferred).
Basic understanding of electrical tools and materials.
Willingness to learn and follow technical and safety instructions.
Physically fit to work in field conditions, including heights or confined spaces.
