We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior CNC Machinist to lead the machining of precision valve components and enclosures. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in CNC programming, machine setup, and machining of tight-tolerance parts. This role involves hands-on production work, mentorship of junior machinists, and active collaboration with engineering and quality teams to continuously improve processes and part quality.
Set up and operate advanced CNC lathes and mills to machine critical components to exact specifications.
Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements.
Create or modify CNC programs (G-code) for new and existing parts.
Select tools, set offsets, and optimize machining parameters for efficiency and accuracy.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.).
Train and mentor junior machinists and operators, providing guidance on best practices and techniques.
Troubleshoot machining issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate with engineering and quality departments on process improvements and design feedback.
Maintain equipment and ensure adherence to preventative maintenance schedules.
Ensure full compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
Advanced CNC Machining: High proficiency in machining tight-tolerance valve and enclosure components.
Programming and Optimization: Ability to read, write, and edit CNC programs (G-code) to optimize production.
Tooling Expertise: In-depth knowledge of tooling selection, wear monitoring, and cycle time reduction.
Quality and Precision: Consistent delivery of dimensionally accurate, defect-free parts.
Leadership and Mentorship: Support the development of team members and foster a culture of technical excellence.
Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in machining workflows, tool life, and productivity.
Technical diploma, trade certification, or associate degree in CNC machining, mechanical engineering, or manufacturing technology.
5+ years of CNC machining experience, including setup, operation, and programming.
Proven expertise in working with precision valve components or complex enclosures.
Strong knowledge of G-code programming (Fanuc, Haas, or similar).
Advanced understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.
Experience with a range of metals (stainless steel, aluminum, brass, etc.).
Familiarity with CMM inspection and SPC practices is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
