CNC Machinist – Valve Components and Enclosures

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for a skilled Mid-Level CNC Machinist with experience in machining precision valve components and enclosures. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC lathes and mills, the ability to read technical drawings, and a strong understanding of tight tolerance machining. This role plays a key part in ensuring high-quality production of critical components used in pressure-regulated or fluid-control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes and milling machines to machine parts to specification.

  • Select appropriate tooling, set offsets, and adjust feeds/speeds as needed.

  • Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with tolerances and quality standards.

  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic machining or tooling issues independently.

  • Perform in-process quality checks and document results.

  • Maintain and clean machines, tooling, and workstations.

  • Work with engineering and quality teams to refine processes and optimize machining parameters.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Precision Machining: Ability to hold tight tolerances on complex valve and enclosure components.

  • Setup Proficiency: Independently set up CNC machines, including tooling and fixturing changes.

  • Blueprint Interpretation: Strong understanding of machining drawings and dimensional tolerances.

  • Quality Assurance: Consistently produce defect-free parts through careful inspection and documentation.

  • Problem Solving: Identify machining issues and proactively implement corrective actions.

  • Efficiency and Productivity: Maintain production targets while ensuring safety and quality compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Technical diploma or trade certification in CNC machining, mechanical technology, or related field.

  • 3–5 years of experience in CNC machining, preferably in valve manufacturing or high-precision enclosures.

  • Proficient with G-code and CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, or similar).

  • Familiarity with a variety of metals including stainless steel, aluminum, and brass.

  • Experience with first article inspection (FAI) and use of precision measurement equipment.

  • Understanding of GD&T and machining best practices.

  • Willingness to work flexible shifts and occasional overtime.
