Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior CNC Machinist to support the production of high-precision valve components and enclosures. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals who have recently completed technical training or have 1–2 years of hands-on CNC machining experience. The machinist will assist in setting up and operating CNC machines, inspecting parts, and maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC lathes and mills to produce metal components according to specifications.

  • Load raw materials and monitor machining processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

  • Perform basic machine setups under the supervision of a senior machinist or supervisor.

  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement tools.

  • Identify and report inconsistencies, tool wear, or machine malfunctions.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and job travelers.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to shop safety standards.

  • Support tool changes, deburring, and other secondary operations as needed.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Basic CNC Operation: Understand and operate CNC equipment for standard production runs.

  • Precision and Quality: Ensure parts meet tight tolerances required for valve and enclosure assemblies.

  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret basic engineering and machining drawings.

  • Inspection: Use measuring tools to verify part dimensions and identify non-conformities.

  • Learning and Development: Demonstrate a willingness to learn advanced setup and programming techniques.

  • Team Support: Collaborate with machinists, supervisors, and quality inspectors to meet production goals.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certification in CNC machining preferred.

  • 0–2 years of experience operating CNC machines (training/apprenticeship experience considered).

  • Basic knowledge of machine shop safety and best practices.

  • Familiarity with common measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).

  • Willingness to work flexible shifts or overtime as needed.

  • Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
