We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior CNC Machining Supervisor to oversee daily machining operations for fabricated metal components. This entry-level leadership role is suited for individuals with hands-on CNC machining experience who are ready to take on supervisory responsibilities. The role involves coordinating operators, supporting machine setup, ensuring part quality, and maintaining workflow efficiency across milling, turning, and multi-axis machines.
Monitor day-to-day CNC machining activities for fabricated parts (e.g., sheet metal, weldments, assemblies).
Assist in assigning jobs, overseeing operator productivity, and ensuring shift targets are met.
Support machine setup, tooling changes, and first-part inspections as needed.
Ensure parts meet dimensional and visual quality standards based on engineering drawings and work instructions.
Conduct in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs.
Escalate issues related to non-conformance, material defects, or tool wear.
Support preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of CNC machines.
Monitor cutting tool usage and request replacements or regrinds as needed.
Maintain proper documentation of machine logs, tool life, and scrap records.
Coordinate with welding, fabrication, and quality teams to ensure smooth handoff of parts.
Identify minor process bottlenecks and suggest improvements in fixture usage, tool paths, or operator practices.
Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping standards on the shop floor.
Assist in training new operators on machine operation, inspection, and safety procedures.
Attend internal training programs related to programming, GD&T, and advanced machining techniques.
Collaborate with CAM/programming and engineering teams for feedback and adjustments.
Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, CNC Machining, Tool & Die, or related field.
1–3 years of hands-on CNC machining experience (milling, turning, or 3/5-axis).
Basic understanding of machining parameters, cutting tools, and fixture setups.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, and work instructions.
Familiar with common metrology tools and shop floor practices.
Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
