We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mid-Level CNC Machining Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our CNC machining department. The role involves leading a team of machinists and operators, ensuring production targets are met, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving continuous improvement. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise in CNC machining with leadership abilities to guide and support a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Manage daily machining schedules to ensure on-time delivery of parts.
Coordinate with planning, engineering, and quality teams to align operations with production goals.
Support machinists with complex setups, tooling, and G-code issues.
Troubleshoot machining problems and drive solutions to reduce downtime.
Monitor product quality and ensure adherence to engineering specifications, tolerances, and inspection criteria.
Enforce quality procedures and escalate non-conformances appropriately.
Lead a team of CNC operators and machinists across shifts.
Provide coaching, performance feedback, and hands-on training for skill development.
Promote a culture of safety and enforce safe work practices across the shop floor.
Monitor and coordinate preventive maintenance of machines and tooling.
Supervise day-to-day CNC operations including milling, turning, and multi-axis machining.
Review work orders, job travelers, and blueprints to ensure accurate job execution.
Track production metrics such as efficiency, scrap rates, and equipment utilization.
Maintain proper inventory of tools, inserts, and consumables.
Lead and participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Ensure proper documentation of setups, production runs, and inspection records.
Diploma or Associate’s degree in Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field.
5–7 years of CNC machining experience with 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and CNC programs.
Hands-on experience with CNC equipment (e.g., Haas, Mazak, Fanuc-controlled machines).
Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and inspection tools.
Experience with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).
Familiarity with ERP/MES systems for job tracking and reporting.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and continuous improvement techniques.
Industry experience in aerospace, automotive, medical, or precision machining.
