We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled Junior – CNC Machining Supervisor to support the day-to-day operations of CNC machining on the production floor. This entry-level supervisory role is designed for individuals with hands-on CNC machining experience who are ready to take on leadership responsibilities, including team coordination, machine oversight, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will work closely with machinists, programmers, and quality teams to ensure production targets are met safely and efficiently.
Assist in scheduling daily tasks and priorities for CNC operators.
Act as a go-to resource for setup, tooling, and machining questions from team members.
Monitor machine utilization and downtime; escalate issues to maintenance or engineering when necessary.
Support quick changeovers and lean practices to improve throughput.
Ensure parts meet specifications through basic inspection and operator checks.
Enforce adherence to work instructions, blueprints, and quality standards.
Promote safe work practices and maintain a clean, organized machining environment.
Participate in safety audits and help implement corrective actions.
Help onboard new machinists and train them on basic setup, inspection, and machine operations.
Encourage continuous improvement and cross-training within the team.
Oversee a shift or small team of CNC operators under the guidance of the CNC Manager.
Verify setups and troubleshoot minor machining issues before escalating.
Maintain tooling inventory and request replenishments as needed.
Support machine maintenance by reporting issues and assisting with basic upkeep.
Record production data and downtime for performance tracking.
Collaborate with programming and engineering teams to ensure smooth job transitions.
Participate in continuous improvement meetings and suggest process enhancements.
Diploma or Associate degree in Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or related technical field.
3–5 years of hands-on CNC machining experience (milling, turning, multi-axis).
Strong understanding of G-code, setup procedures, and blueprint reading.
Familiarity with basic metrology tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
Comfortable with supervisory tasks and team coordination.
Experience on CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, or Haas.
Exposure to lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma tools.
Ability to read GD&T and understand tolerancing requirements.
Basic knowledge of ERP or MES systems for tracking production.
