This role ensures sanitation performance meets stringent food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, drives improvements in cleaning efficiency, mentors junior staff, and collaborates across departments to uphold operational hygiene standards.
Independently operate and oversee CIP systems for multiple production areas and equipment types.
Set up and fine-tune CIP parameters (flow, temperature, conductivity, chemical dosing) for maximum cleaning effectiveness and resource efficiency.
Lead verification of cleaning programs through titration, pH testing, ATP, allergen, and microbiological swabbing (as applicable).
Troubleshoot and resolve advanced mechanical, automation, or chemical issues affecting CIP performance.
Analyze CIP trends and system data to recommend improvements that reduce downtime, chemical usage, and water/energy consumption.
Partner with Engineering and Maintenance on equipment design for cleanability and CIP system upgrades.
Ensure full compliance with GMP, HACCP, FSMA, 3-A Sanitary Standards, and company sanitation SOPs.
Maintain accurate records for regulatory audits and support internal/external sanitation inspections.
Lead root cause investigations of sanitation failures and implement corrective actions.
Mentor and train junior and mid-level CIP operators on procedures, safety practices, and troubleshooting methods.
Collaborate with QA, Production, and Maintenance teams to align cleaning operations with production schedules and food safety objectives.
