The Junior CIP/SIP Supervisor is responsible for supporting the day-to-day execution, monitoring, and documentation of Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Steam-in-Place (SIP) processes used for cleaning and sterilizing production equipment. This entry-level supervisory role ensures that cleaning protocols are executed correctly, equipment cleanliness is verified, and regulatory standards are maintained to support product safety and quality.
Assist in supervising and performing automated and manual CIP/SIP cycles on tanks, piping, valves, and process equipment.
Monitor key parameters such as flow, temperature, pressure, and time to ensure compliance with validated cleaning protocols.
Respond to alarms, deviations, or incomplete cleaning cycles by investigating root causes and taking corrective actions.
Support validation and verification of cleaning systems including sensors, steam traps, CIP skids, and SIP loops.
Conduct pre- and post-cleaning inspections of equipment to confirm cleanliness and readiness for production.
Assist with troubleshooting issues related to steam supply, condensate removal, chemical dosing, and cycle performance.
Ensure accurate documentation of all CIP/SIP activities in logs, forms, and digital systems (e.g., SCADA, MES).
Follow established SOPs, GMP practices, and sanitation standards relevant to food, beverage, or pharmaceutical production.
Support compliance with FDA, USDA, EU GMP, and other regulatory requirements depending on the industry.
Assist in the safe handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals, detergents, and sanitizers.
Monitor and verify proper steam supply parameters for SIP (e.g., saturated steam temperature, duration, pressure).
Ensure CIP/SIP systems are flushed and drained appropriately to avoid cross-contamination.
Guide sanitation or production staff on the correct use of CIP/SIP systems and hygiene practices.
Participate in cross-training activities to increase team flexibility and support continuous improvement.

Steam sterilization of tanks, vessels, and process lines
Validation protocols for cleaning effectiveness and sterility assurance
Cleanroom or hygienic design principles (depending on industry)
Compliance with GMP, FDA, USDA, 3A, and/or EHEDG standards
SCADA or PLC-controlled process equipment
High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or associate degree in mechanical, chemical, or food technology preferred)
2–4 years of experience in sanitation, utilities, or process operations in a food, beverage, or pharmaceutical plant
Basic understanding of steam systems, cleaning chemicals, and hygiene best practices
Familiarity with GMP or HACCP principles and documentation standards
Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork skills
