The Junior CFD Engineer – HVAC Airflow & Ducting supports the design and analysis of airflow and ducting systems within automotive HVAC applications. This role involves performing computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to evaluate and optimize air distribution, pressure losses, and thermal performance in vehicle HVAC systems. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the junior engineer contributes to model setup, simulation execution, and data analysis to support design improvements and validate system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in setting up and running CFD simulations for HVAC airflow and ducting system designs using tools such as ANSYS Fluent or STAR-CCM+.
Support senior engineers in analyzing airflow patterns, pressure drops, temperature distribution, and noise generation within ducting systems.
Prepare simulation reports and documentation to communicate findings and recommendations.
Collaborate with design and engineering teams to incorporate CFD results into system design iterations.
Participate in validation activities, including correlating CFD results with physical testing data.
Maintain simulation models, databases, and project documentation in accordance with engineering standards.
Stay updated with CFD best practices, software advancements, and industry trends.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field required
Coursework or internship experience in CFD preferred
Experience:
0–2 years of experience in CFD or fluid dynamics, preferably related to HVAC or automotive systems
Internship or project experience with CFD tools and simulation techniques
Technical Skills:
Basic proficiency with CFD software such as ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, or similar
Understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and airflow principles
Familiarity with CAD software and mesh generation techniques
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
