Job Title: Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst II / Mid-Level BI Analyst
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and analytical Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst II to join our Data & Analytics team. As a mid-level BI Analyst, you will play a key role in independently designing and delivering robust analytics solutions to support strategic and operational business decisions. You will work closely with stakeholders across departments to understand their data needs and translate them into meaningful dashboards, reports, and insights.
This role requires strong technical skills in data analysis, SQL, and BI tools, along with the ability to understand business processes and deliver data-driven recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and complex reports using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
- Write efficient and optimized SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from large datasets
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and deliver reporting solutions aligned with business goals
- Analyze trends, anomalies, and patterns in data to generate actionable business insights
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across reports and dashboards
- Perform root cause analysis to address data quality issues and collaborate with data engineering teams for resolution
- Contribute to data modeling, ETL processes, and automation of recurring reporting tasks
- Translate complex data into concise and easy-to-understand visual narratives and summaries for business users
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
- Professional certifications in BI tools or data analytics (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau Desktop Specialist, Google Data Analytics) are an advantage
Experience:
- 2–4 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a similar analytical role
- Hands-on experience in building dashboards, writing advanced SQL queries, and working with large datasets
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in SQL for querying, joining, and aggregating data across multiple tables and databases
- Strong experience with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
- Intermediate understanding of data modeling, star/snowflake schema, and ETL concepts
- Familiarity with data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or similar
- Strong Excel skills for quick data manipulation and prototyping
- Ability to use filters, parameters, DAX (Power BI), or calculated fields (Tableau) effectively
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Capable of translating data into clear business stories and influencing decision-making
- Collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in industry-specific analytics (e.g., retail, e-commerce, finance, healthcare)
- Exposure to cloud-based analytics platforms and data pipeline tools
- Understanding of data governance, privacy standards, and reporting best practices
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira)
