We are seeking a proactive and technically inclined Junior BAS Engineer – HVAC Controls to support the design, programming, testing, and commissioning of Building Automation Systems (BAS) that manage HVAC operations. This entry-level position provides an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in smart building technologies, energy efficiency, and integrated HVAC controls.
Assist in the design and engineering of building automation systems for HVAC applications, including system architecture and control logic.
Support programming and configuration of BAS platforms (e.g., Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell).
Participate in installation supervision, functional testing, and system commissioning under the guidance of senior engineers.
Help develop and interpret sequences of operation (SOO) for HVAC equipment (AHUs, chillers, VAVs, boilers, etc.).
Assist in troubleshooting BAS issues related to HVAC controls and recommend corrective actions.
Review mechanical and electrical plans to ensure accurate integration with control systems.
Prepare technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and test reports.
Coordinate with contractors, electricians, and HVAC technicians during project execution.
HVAC Systems & Control Integration
Understand how BAS integrates with HVAC equipment and supports climate control in commercial and industrial buildings.
BAS Programming & Protocols
Learn to program and configure controllers using BACnet, Modbus, and other communication protocols.
System Commissioning & Testing
Gain hands-on experience in site startup, commissioning, and performance validation of HVAC control systems.
Documentation & Technical Reporting
Develop the ability to document system configurations, as-built drawings, and commissioning reports.
Collaboration & Learning
Work alongside senior engineers and field teams to grow technical skills and industry knowledge.
Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Automation, or related field.
Basic understanding of HVAC systems and control principles.
Interest in building automation, energy systems, or smart technologies.
Familiarity with control system components such as sensors, actuators, and control panels.
Willingness to learn BAS programming tools and software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and team collaboration abilities.
Valid driver’s license (for occasional site work or commissioning support).
