The Boost System Controls Engineer at the mid-level designs, develops, and validates control strategies for turbocharging and boost systems in automotive powertrains. This role independently leads control algorithm development and calibration efforts, collaborating closely with mechanical, software, and calibration teams to optimize boost system performance, emissions, and reliability. The engineer supports integration and validation activities including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and vehicle-level calibration.
Develop and implement advanced boost control algorithms for turbochargers, variable geometry turbines, and related boost components.
Lead calibration efforts to optimize boost pressure control, transient response, and system robustness.
Perform hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations and engine/vehicle testing to validate control strategies.
Analyze test data to identify issues and drive corrective actions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical design, software development, and powertrain calibration.
Support troubleshooting and refinement of boost control systems during development and production phases.
Maintain clear technical documentation and contribute to process improvements.
