The Senior Boilermaker is responsible for leading and executing the fabrication of high-integrity pressure parts such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, boilers, and high-pressure piping spools. The role demands deep knowledge of fabrication codes (ASME Section VIII, IX), proficiency in interpreting complex drawings, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring safe and quality-driven fabrication practices in a workshop or site-based environment.
Interpret and apply detailed fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and geometric tolerances accurately.
Perform advanced fit-up of pressure parts, including shell sections, nozzles, manways, tube sheets, stiffeners, and internal components.
Supervise and guide junior boilermakers and fitters to ensure precise and code-compliant fabrication.
Ensure dimensional accuracy and joint preparation are within acceptable tolerances and in line with WPS/PQR.
Conduct or assist in in-process checks, hydrotest preparation, and rectification of fabrication defects.
Coordinate with welding, NDT, QA/QC, and planning teams to meet production schedules and quality standards.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of fabrication sequences and workshop processes including rolling, beveling, and rigging.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, lifting plans, and PPE use during all fabrication activities.
Maintain documentation such as fit-up logs, punch points, and material traceability records.
Report progress, deviations, and resource needs to supervisors or project engineers.
