We are looking for an entry-level Junior Boilermaker to assist in the fabrication and assembly of pressure parts such as boiler components, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers. The ideal candidate will have basic technical training, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work under the supervision of experienced boilermakers in a high-precision, safety-critical environment.
Assist in marking, measuring, and cutting metal plates and pipes as per fabrication drawings and layouts.
Support senior boilermakers in fit-up and tack welding of shells, nozzles, and structural supports.
Operate basic hand tools and measuring instruments under supervision.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and tools.
Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE during operations.
Learn and apply correct handling of materials, tools, and fabrication equipment.
Participate in tool preparation, rigging assistance, and job staging for senior technicians.
Observe and assist in fabrication and assembly of pressure vessels, headers, and tube sheets.
Report any issues or observations to supervisors promptly.
Learning & Development: On-the-job learning from experienced boilermakers, including codes and fabrication practices.
Drawing Familiarization: Gaining the ability to read and understand basic fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
Fabrication Support: Assist in layout, cutting, grinding, and basic fit-up of pressure parts.
Safety Awareness: Follow safety protocols in fabrication, rigging, and confined space environments.
Material Handling: Learn safe handling and identification of plates, pipes, and consumables used in pressure part fabrication.
Teamwork: Contribute effectively within a team and communicate clearly with supervisors and peers.
Education:
ITI or Vocational Certificate in Boilermaking, Fitting, Welding, or Mechanical Trades (mandatory).
Higher secondary education (preferred) with a focus on mechanical subjects.
Certifications (Preferred):
Basic training in fabrication safety or introductory welding/fitting certification.
Familiarity with ASME Section VIII (Pressure Vessels) is a plus, but not required at this level.
Experience:
0–2 years of hands-on or apprenticeship experience in a fabrication workshop or industrial mechanical environment.
Skills & Attributes:
Eagerness to learn fabrication techniques and develop mechanical skills.
Basic knowledge of hand tools, grinders, measuring tapes, and calipers.
Ability to follow instructions accurately and work in a team.
Physically fit and willing to work in a heavy fabrication environment.
