Job Title: Boiler Tube Welder

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Boiler Tube Welder to perform welding repairs and maintenance of boiler tubes and pressure parts within a power plant. This role requires solid hands-on welding experience, familiarity with boiler systems, and adherence to safety and quality standards to ensure the integrity and reliability of critical pressure components.

Key Responsibilities

Welding & Repairs

  • Perform welding of boiler tubes, headers, and related pressure parts using SMAW, TIG, MIG, or other appropriate welding processes.

  • Follow welding procedures, blueprints, and technical drawings to execute welds according to specifications.

  • Assist in tube replacement and repair during scheduled maintenance or outages.

Quality & Inspection Support

  • Participate in visual inspections of welds and pressure parts to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Collaborate with NDT inspectors and maintenance teams to identify welding defects and repair requirements.

  • Maintain accurate records of welding activities and inspection results.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow strict safety protocols including LOTO, confined space entry, and use of PPE during welding operations.

  • Participate in safety meetings and report any unsafe conditions or incidents.

  • Ensure welding work adheres to ASME codes and plant safety regulations.

Learning & Development

  • Work under the supervision of senior welders or supervisors to enhance welding skills and knowledge of boiler systems.

  • Attend training sessions on welding techniques, safety practices, and boiler maintenance procedures.

  • Assist junior welders and helpers as needed.

Key Focus Areas

  • Welding and repair of boiler tubes and pressure parts

  • Ensuring weld quality and safety compliance

Qualifications and Skills

Education:

  • Technical diploma or certification in Welding Technology or related field preferred

Certifications (Preferred):

  • AWS or ASME Section IX Certified Welder (or willing to obtain)

  • Basic safety certifications preferred

Experience:

  • 3–6 years of welding experience in industrial or power plant boiler environments

  • Hands-on experience with SMAW, TIG, MIG welding suitable for boiler tube work

Skills:

  • Ability to read welding procedures and technical drawings

  • Strong attention to weld quality and safety standards

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Willingness to learn and improve welding techniques
