We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Boiler Technician to lead the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-pressure boiler systems within a power plant. This senior role demands advanced technical expertise in boiler pressure parts, burner management, and auxiliary equipment, along with leadership capabilities to mentor junior staff and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Senior Boiler Technician will be a key contributor to plant reliability, efficiency, and safety.
Lead the operation of high-pressure boilers, including fuel systems, steam generation, feedwater controls, and combustion optimization.
Analyze operational data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to optimize boiler efficiency and reduce downtime.
Supervise boiler start-ups, shutdowns, and emergency responses.
Oversee and execute advanced maintenance tasks on pressure parts, including tube repairs, burner servicing, refractory maintenance, and valve overhauls.
Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and thermal issues such as tube failures, thermal fatigue, burner instability, and combustion inefficiencies.
Collaborate with engineering and inspection teams during root cause investigations and major repairs.
Lead boiler preparation, execution, and post-outage activities for major planned and forced shutdowns.
Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, and internal teams to ensure quality repairs and compliance with ASME Section I, NBIC, and site QA/QC standards.
Prepare detailed outage reports, inspection summaries, and maintenance documentation.
Champion adherence to safety protocols including LOTO, confined space entry, hot work permits, and environmental regulations.
Conduct safety audits and lead training sessions for the boiler maintenance team.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support external audits and inspections.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level boiler technicians.
Support workforce development by identifying training needs and facilitating skills enhancement programs.
Foster a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.

Education:
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power Plant Technology, or related field preferred
Certifications (Preferred):
Valid Boiler Operator License (1st or 2nd Class, depending on jurisdiction)
ASME/NBIC knowledge, Welding qualifications, NDT certifications (advantageous)
OSHA 30, Confined Space, Hot Work, and Safety Leadership certifications
Experience:
10+ years in power plant boiler operation and maintenance, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role
Extensive hands-on experience with pressure parts, burners, auxiliary systems, and boiler controls
Skills:
Expert knowledge of boiler metallurgy, failure modes, and thermal dynamics
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure
Proficiency in maintenance management systems (CMMS), data analysis, and technical reporting
Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities
