We are seeking a competent and experienced Boiler Technician with mid-level expertise in the operation, inspection, and maintenance of high-pressure boiler systems in a thermal power plant setting. This role requires hands-on skill in maintaining boiler performance, supporting outage activities, and ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards.
Independently operate and monitor high-pressure boilers, burners, feedwater systems, and auxiliary equipment.
Adjust controls to regulate pressure, temperature, fuel input, and steam output to match plant demands.
Record and analyze operational data; identify and report anomalies in boiler performance.
Perform scheduled maintenance on pressure parts, valves, pumps, soot blowers, and combustion controls.
Troubleshoot and repair minor leaks, faulty gaskets, misaligned actuators, and worn-out components.
Assist in chemical cleaning, descaling, and refractory patching tasks.
Participate in boiler shutdown procedures, including safety isolation and cooldown processes.
Support internal inspections by preparing equipment, removing access panels, and assisting inspection teams.
Collaborate with welders and fitters during minor pressure part repair and component replacement.
Enforce safety measures such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, hot work, and proper PPE usage.
Maintain logs, checklists, and maintenance records in alignment with internal and regulatory standards.
Ensure compliance with ASME codes, plant SOPs, and environmental requirements (e.g., emissions control).
Liaise with control room operators, maintenance planners, and engineering teams for maintenance coordination.
Provide technical input for root cause analysis of boiler issues.
Assist junior technicians and contribute to on-the-job skill development initiatives.

Education:
Technical Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Boiler Technology, or Power Plant Operations
Certifications (Required or Preferred):
Valid Boiler Operator License (2nd Class or higher based on jurisdiction)
OSHA 30, Confined Space, and Hot Work certification preferred
Experience:
3–7 years of experience in boiler operation and maintenance within power plants or heavy industry
Hands-on knowledge of pressure parts, steam systems, burner control, and boiler auxiliaries
Skills:
Strong troubleshooting and operational decision-making abilities
Working knowledge of boiler codes (ASME Section I), safety procedures, and water chemistry
Proficiency with logkeeping, CMMS (e.g., SAP PM), and mechanical tools
Good communication and team collaboration skills
